The search function is rubbish in the new Outlook; if you search the same parameters in the old one and get results back, then do the same search in the new one, it doesn't...useless

But can we add "to do" that syncs with the team planner?

Hi Scott, the new outlook for me isnt worth the hassle of upgrading from Outlook 2021 to Outlook for 365 ? I have 11 email address that come into my Inbox, from Outlook, Gmail, and 3 websites plus a couple of marketing addresses ..... my biggest gripe with Outlook has always been that you cannot 'color' the Folders under a main Inbox ? I use about 15 Folders almost everyday ....... would be nice to group them by colored text, thats all ? Surely it isnt that hard to do ? But Microsoft ignores non corporate users ..... good video though

But if the team already has a planner where todo etc are stored. When making a new meeting from a channel the loop agenda can't be added. So how do we connect the loop agendas to do with the team planner? So the method should be? 1. Create a meeting with a channel connected 2. During the meeting with loop create new to do that syncs with the channels planner app. Can't this method to work.

Scott thanks for sharing these tips. I switched to New Outlook and my calendar items disappeared. Where are the File, Send/Receive, Folder functions? Please, advise.

I tried the new Outlook twice. Once, a couple of months after the option to try it first appeared, and later in Feb this year. Now, I think new Outlook is good enough to stay with the new. My remaining complaint is the continuing inability to search Rule and the spacing of the Calendar selection submenu. My prior complaints about other excess spacing and accessing my Gmail accounts in it have been fixed. Thanks for doing this video for us. Anyone who reads this, please use the Feedback tool to request MS make Rules in New Outlook searchable.

I turned on that option used it for a few minutes to an hour then turned it off and since then I hope that Microsoft never forces us to have that New version as its terrible.

How can I see my most recent replies in the conversation view? It used to have my most recent reply at the top.

Scott, how many accounts can we add into outlook app? lets say if i have different domain based emails, is it possible or is there any restriction? can we also add gmail accounts along with microsoft 365 or pop3 accounts?

Every upgrade to outlook makes me hate it more and more. Especially the Mac version. Pure garbage.

SharePoint has something similar with project management template that I launched yesterday but this seems better all around.

I record/transcribe then use copilot generated tasks to populate loop. Not perfect but very close; we have gotten into the habit of saying at the end of themerting, hey copilot “these are the main tasks and whom they re assigned to”

The New Outlook is lighter, but it is also not as powerful as the classic one. And many simple operations are either not available or take too much time to find.

I was all set to change over until I discovered you cannot use Proton Mail via Proton Bridge with the new Outlook. 😞

I have an existing Hotmail account for home use with the previous version of Outlook which I’m using on an iPad so I have the Outlook App - I have a lot of old and unwanted emails dating back to 2019 but I also have a lot of emails that I need to keep - as I’m constantly getting notifications that my storage is 97% full and I don’t want to buy more storage, I find the process of deleting such huge volumes of unwanted emails on the main Outlook webpage tedious and time consuming, as the App does not sync with the main Outlook servers/webpage, even when using commands like Sweep - and setting up Rules is a mystery to me, as I’m not as self disciplined as deleting unwanted emails as quickly as possible - I’ve tried to use some third party apps on the App Store that are compatible with Hotmail/Outlook and I’ve looked online for any extensions, add-ons or other software to help with this, but they charge an arm and a leg after the trial period is over - I’ve even contacted Microsoft forums for any advice and I’m still waiting on any replies

It feels like a cut down version of old outlook, no send and receive is annoying, search is pants and why must you customise everything to use it. It will never be the same as the old one without major revamp, no I’m not a fan. Disappointing.

No Co Pilot option here...how do we enable it ?

How do we save attachments from emails? I find that I have to download them and then go and manually save them in a different location. Also keyboard shortcuts don't seem to work stop. I used to use them in the past to categorise my mails and meetings.

I am still waiting for conditional formatting to be available for inbox and calendar.

I looked at the Task List Rules, but I don't think I have my task list set up correctly. Do you have recommendations on using the "rules"?

As far as I understand, this is the "Free" slimmed down version of the paid Outlook 2021, 2019, 365 etc. I've only briefly tried it, can it import existing .pst files and fully support pop and/or imap ?

When I was working for a local authority we used outlook. I used to get outlook to sort my emails. For instance anything from someone outside of the LA I’d get it to put in one folder. Any emails from my boss went into another folder. Can that still be done? I can’t see how.

Scott, great video. I have been using this for the past couple months. Any suggestions for how to track all of the captured action items in your meetings? I as a project manager of multiple simultaneous projects love the ability to assign actions during the meeting. However, I find it difficult to track them and follow up with people I assigned actions to. The actions are in their todo list, but I have to open every past meeting to see if the actions are completed. Copying the all to OneNote just seems more work than needed.

@your365coach There is a big problem with the new Outlook which will be a problem later on when it's pushed to update the existing 365 version. Its good to mentioned that the "new Outlook" is a web based Outlook. The 2 main issues are: 1.) Shared Mailboxes have been excluded from OWA (Outlook Web Access) since a year (or even more) ago, so if you have shared mailboxes under your license, these users with a shared mailbox cannot access their email through OWA, so If you currently have a licensed mailbox + a shared mailbox in your Outlook 365, when you switch to the "new Outlook, the shared mailbox will bot load. 2.) Those companies/corporation which have licensed mailbox BUT they have not given permission to access the mailbox through the web (OWA), they will also have a problem and will not be able to switch to the "new Outlook". I experienced both issues as I do have several shared mailboxes AND at work, I switch to the "new Outlook" and I lost access to my mailbox because my company have disabled web access. It's worth it to test it out; I don't know of Microsoft is looking into this. I have reported this to Microsoft back then.
